I look through them marking the ones I wish people would make me. I am not a great cook.

I don’t READ them… like I would a book… but I’ve spent many hours flipping through mine. I play in the kitchen a lot and it’s not unusual to find me researching recipes with about 10 or 20 cookbooks piled around me.

For me, there are five food groups; eat in, take out, microwaveable, canned, and chocolate! I have lots of cookbooks and have bookmarked recipes that I think would be great to eat, but it’s like Marxism; works in theory, not in practice.

ALL THE TIME and I collect them. If something looks good I buy the cookbook but I have nobody to cook for anymore?

I like looking through them & if there’s information about the ingredients or the origin of the dish I find that interesting too.
I rarely follow the recipe to the letter though, I just like to get a feel for how it’s supposed to be, then I do my own thing.

Yes! I LOVE to cook, but very rarely do I use a recipe (as written) (except for baking)- Often I will read a recipe and alter it, use it for inspiration, etc. I LOVE cookbooks, but I read them like novels.
