I upgraded to the new Paperwhite and it was definitely worth it.

It’s lighter, waterproof and you can listen to audio books on it, so worth the extra bit of money x

I have got one of the first paper whites not had a problem with it so don’t feel the need to change .
I have the new one but to be honest I can’t tell

I have the new paperwhite…my other was about 6 yr old.
It is faster than my older one was..
@Karen what do you mean faster ..
@Margaret I use to get a lag when starting it up, finding books is quicker to, it use to take forever to swipe the page and it load up to the next page.
Or when searching for a new book on kindle store…I’d type in search …the word would take ages to appear, then after I’d press search it would take ages to find the books. Scrolling thru options now is much quicker for me.
I’ve never had a problem with mine works same as when I first bought it , first original kindle I ever bought still works perfect as well , maybe you should have asked Amazon to replace your other one first .
@Margaret my boys bought me a new one…the older one was out of warranty anyway.
@Karen I must admit if mine died on me I would have to replace it straight away , ?
@Karen I bought a new Kindle for this reason. Original kindle very slow and does not always charge fully. Yet, I still love it. Nearly 5 years old. When it does finally give up I will use new one. Old Kindle has Cloud, new kindle is Library
I bought my wife the 3G Oasis – it’s brilliant – so light and clear. And being able to access the store from the beach was a winner on holiday last week. Didn’t test its waterproof capabilities because she bought a leather case for it!
Still more than happy with my paperwhite, works well, no need for change yet.
