I feel so ashamed. I haven’t read any books by Jen Lancaster yet. Any recommendations on a good one to start with?

Every book is pretty much self-contained. However, I find it better reading them in order (starting with Bitter is the New Black). She sometimes refers back to previous books.

I agree with starting at the beginning. Jen is charming and witty and the best. But part of the charm if her transformation into who she is now. It is wildly relatable and you’ll think you are really friends.

I know what you mean about feeling like Jen is a friend. When I am done reading a Jen book, I often feel sad, as if Jen was visiting me for a few days, and then she had to leave to go back home ?

Bitter was also my first but the Tao of Martha had me laughing so hard that my co-worker moved to another seat on the ferry we were taking to see a client. Currently reading I Regret Nothing and, while I still crack up (loudly), I’ve learned to read in my hotel room on business trips with co-workers! ?

I read them in chronological order because I started reading them st the beginning. But you don’t have to. I think you should pick the one that most appeals to you, then take it from there. Sometimes a book appeals to you more, or less. I love her books, and I think you will find one that will hook you – and it will be easy from there

Start at the beginning with Bitter for sure!! They are all good, and you can definitely read them out of order, but seeing where she came from in that book is the best place to start IMO.
