Oh yes! I loved it. My OH read it too, he’s not much of a reader, and he loved it as well
It was ok, a bit forced (the humour).
I read a chapter and got bored ? I think it might be the writing style I’m not sure, I might give it another chance. I saw it was supposed to be funny but no laughs here ?

I read it in a day. Probably the funniest book I’ve ever read. I would definitely recommended trying it again.
Im still picking it up now & again, it’s really not funny to me.
@Jenni I’m a medical student so maybe I just see it from a different perspective.
I’ve been dipping in and out for at least 6 months. I think the style is not for me
I think there are probably really funny stories in it, but I think his writing style makes them forced and not funny.

Didn’t like at all. He came across as rather arrogant and did not find it funny at all. Failed to see what all the fuss was about tbh ….

If you appreciate medical black humour, you will love this.
I much preferred “Do No Harm”, that was riveting without the try-hard humour.
It was ok but all the baby stuff didn’t interest me. I’ve just bought this , think it will be more interesting to me as I’ve had heart surgery ?

I read it, it was ok, funny and sad but I’m a nurse so there wasn’t much new in it for me

If you want to know what life is really like as a doctor, then read it. I’d prescribe it to all my patients if I could! I didn’t find it that funny though – a bit too close to the bone.

I liked it, but glad I read it after I had children. Wouldn’t want to have read it pregnant. It made laugh out loud quite a few times!
Brilliant book, sad and funny in equal measure. I’m a midwife and nearly all my colleagues have read it and we all agree that it shows real life in the NHS perfectly!

Yup. Oh, but not if you’re pregnant, because he did most of his senior work in Obstetrics and the last thing you want when you are going to deliver a baby is hearing about things from the doctor’s angle.
