Okay, okay, I give. It’s time to try a Steven (Stephen?) King novel. I am not into murder, horror, etc at all but I know he’s got wider audiences than that. Suggestions please. ?

Different Seasons is a collection of 4 novellas. Three stories were made into movies – Stand by Me, Apt Pupil, and Shawshank Redemption.

The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon is a pretty short book about a girl who gets lost in the woods. It has nice suspense without being freaky.

The Stand is more about the battle of good and evil, than horror.
That sounds interesting.
My favorite of his – I’ve read it three or four times and I have watched the movie they made. I have three copies of the book and a copy of the movie in my personal collection.
I just found out it ties into the dark tower books, too. Perfect! This is my starting point.
I’ll move onto the others later.
