Ask Question

I am not into murder, horror at all, but I know Steven King got lots of fan. What should I try.

Okay, okay, I give. It’s time to try a Steven (Stephen?) King novel. I am not into murder, horror, etc at all but I know he’s got wider audiences than that. Suggestions please. ?

Ps: Holy cow y’all jumped on that fast. ?

In the movies, is Misery the one with Cathy Bates?

In my opinion, Misery is the scariest because *that could happen

King’s latest, The Outsider, is getting good reviews, although I haven’t read it. https://bookmarks.reviews/reviews/the-outsider/

I’m not into horror or murder etc either, but I did like “bag of bones”. More of a mystery.

The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon is a pretty short book about a girl who gets lost in the woods. It has nice suspense without being freaky.

Thank you. But I don’t think those are my cup of tea. I can try one and see tho. They are good ones to get out of my comfort zone.

The Stand is more about the battle of good and evil, than horror.

My favorite of his – I’ve read it three or four times and I have watched the movie they made. I have three copies of the book and a copy of the movie in my personal collection.

I just found out it ties into the dark tower books, too. Perfect! This is my starting point.

I’ll move onto the others later.
