Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. There are 3 books so far and it is my favorite series!!! It’s kinda Middle Eastern Mythology meets the Roman Empire with amazing storytelling and characters.

World War Z by Max Brooks. An oral history of a zombie apocalypse. So very, very clever.
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi, The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, and Under the Never Sky are great YA series. D.D. Warren by Lisa Gardner, Kenzie and Gennaro by Dennis Lehane, and Will Trent by Karin Slaughter are excellent detective series.
Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews. Such a good series. One of my favs.
