The Storyteller – Jodi Picoult (all the feels)

Girl Logic – Iliza Shlesinger (funniest friend tells all her stories)

The Martian – Andy Weir (“Will he make it?”)

Ready Player One – Ernest Cline (“Holy crap did I actually love a book about a video game?”)

Anything by Mary Roach (The world is fascinating)

Agree about Ready Player One. I loved all the 80s references. Movie was fun.

I stayed away for a long time because, really, how interesting can a book about a video game be? I went and saw the movie with my husband just because I could entertain myself by looking at all the Easter Eggs, but ended up loving it. So, of course, I read the book. Despite the huge differences, I love them both and I’m so glad I finally read it!

I loved “Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus.” It is definitely aimed at a Christian audience but is not only a fascinating memoir it also very sensitively explains Islam and why it is nearly impossible for the two groups to understand each other no matter how tolerant they are of one another.

The book I’m currently reading “The Fastest Thing on Wings” is a memoir of a hummingbird rehabilitator in Los Angeles. I’m only on Chapter 4 and I’ve already laughed out loud in public and cried over a bird trying to live and ultimately failing. It is fantastic (and only $1.20 on Kindle at the moment)
