I am having such a hard time finishing The GoldFinchI am having such a hard time finishing The GoldFinch Priya #review
I read all but the last 15 or so pages. Seems silly to not just finish it with so few pages left, but I just couldn’t take it anymore.
I found it fascinating. Hard read, tough because of all the shit happening. Definitely no easy book. Still not sure if it was worth all that.
I enjoyed the book, but it does have some parts you have to plow your way through. It is a long read.
I agree parts of it were hard to get through. I just wanted to finish it tho and get some questions answered.
I thought it was very good, BUT, felt it really could have been edited down, it seemed to drag somewhat
I loved it, but no book is for everyone. If you don’t like it, move on to another book. Life is short and there are too many books out there to read.
I struggled a bit as well. Felt like the first part was much stronger than the last. Managed to finish, though, and have no regrets at having done so. Your mileage may vary. 😉
I loved it – try her first one – The Secret History you will not be disappointed with that – totally different again!
@Priya – I can understand why GF is not everyone’s cup of tea – I found the art history amazing…the story itself could have been edited quite a bit!
I struggled too and was disappointed. Especially as I was motivated to read it based on the fact that the book was supposedly inspired by the painting

I really didn’t like that book.
@Becky I just got it, why not
I had a hard time getting into it & it just never seemed to get better.

Loved it but I listened to the audiobook and I think it was the better option.

Did not like at all. Her other books were so good!

One of my least enjoyed books ever.
Me too.
Audio book! Made it more enjoyable although it dragged in some areas
I loved the beginning but stopped reading it a little after page 300. Beautiful writing though.
I had to read that book for a class and still only made it halfway. I do not see the appeal.
It took me a while to get through it too but over all it was a good book
