The Abhorsen Chronicles, Garth Nix.
The Inheritance Cycle, Christopher Paolini
Harry Potter, of course, J. K. Rowling
The Giver Quartet, Lois Lowry (to really see the fantasy in this series, you have to stick with it. The end is very rewarding).
Lord of the Rings, J. R. R. Tolkien

Being a character development junkie, I like a lot of series. Enjoy! ?

I’ve just finished Spellwright by Blake Charlton and discovered it’s book one of a trilogy. Very good – spells are formed as sentences that you physically pull from the body as runes and throw them to cast them.

If you haven’t read it already, the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin. And if you don’t mind a hefty dose of romance with your fantasy, the Throne of Glass series and A Court of Thorns and Roses series both by Sarah J. Maas.
