Hunger Games is a quick read. Read all three books in less than a week.
I mean, I’ve read both and I enjoy both. If you’re looking for a quick series read, go with the hunger games. If you’re looking for something to last a little longer than go with MI. MI is more fantasy than HG

Hunger games. It’s less books to go through and all three are excellent.
Depends what flavor you’re in the mood for—
❤️TMI=Urban fantasy, more angsty romance, a much longer, in-depth story, more drama
❤️Hunger Games=Dystopian action adventure trilogy, social commentary, a much more gritty, real vibe
BOTH are excellent YA fun, depending on you’re mood

I haven’t read the Mortal Instrument series but I did LOVE the Hunger Games Trilogy, that was what helped me relearn my love of books haha!
TMI, but warning it’s very rich universe with lots of books

It depends on what you like. I found both of them to be light, fluff reading, but I enjoyed the arc of the Hunger Games more. Neither has great depth of character, but Hunger Games is a little better.

Mortal instruments, because it is much shorter. Lol. Both are good, but I prefer MI by a small margin.

@Jamie mortal instruments is 6 books long wit 2 follow-up series the clocwork and the dark artifice series .. C.W. is 3 books and D.A. is 2 books with more coming. Also a stand alone shadow Hunter academy book. I’ve read both series and enjoyed them all.

@Trey I know what TMI is. Lol. I was being funny. But those books took a few hours to read vs Hunger Games which took…forever.

They are both great. But The Mortal Instruments is up top on my list of favorite just below Harry Potter! I have just re-read them and the Infernal Devices and the first two Dark Artifices books just as a refresher for Queen of Air and Darkness coming in just a couple weeks!!

@Trey I am so with you! I have been antsy for the last month. And then when I just finished LoS again just a couple weeks ag, that ending man, it made me even more anxious for it to be released already.

Go hunger games first, there is only three and I personally found them an easier read. I LOVE the mortal instruments books, I will level with you though the first one was a little slow for but come the first couple of chapters of book 2 and I was hooked. Now I’ve read every single book in the shadow hunter world

I love them both honestly. But I’d go with Hunger Games first because there are less books to complete the series. Besides TMI made me want to expand into her other series to – TID and TDA.
