If you like Tolkien, you might like my short novel “The Road Home”. It’s sort of a coming of age story (main character is around 20 years old) with a bit of a Tolkien feel. https://www.amazon.com/Road-Home-Cyndi-Carter/dp/098316679X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506558771&sr=8-1&keywords=cyndi+carter

The night angel series or the light bringer series by Brent Weeks. Both are amazing

Hi Jesse, it’s not a series but my book certainly has similarities to the work of Tolkien. You can listen to my narration of it here, if you want to get a feel for it. Cheers. 🙂 The Book Of Irvine – A Contemptuous Cargo: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4XRyRmImLCQN7WbWwebapLv6EJ3m0xR3

Thanks for the feedback every one, just bought book one of the night angel trilogy hopefully it keeps me occupied for a while. I’m looking for something with the same feel as the inheritance cycle. I like the coming of age underdog with a mix of dragons, elves and dwarves. I also just read the summoner series which was a little rough around the edges but all in all a good read, thanks for the help.

It’s more of a coming of age-chosen one then underdog

Good point, he was definitely out matched the entire series though.

That’s true of any story. The hero is always the underdog and has to rise up to win

It’s really good.

It’s about an assassin. There is magic but I don’t think it has dwarves and stuff. It’s a little bloodier than most fantasy books I’ve read. I didn’t think I’d like it at first, but then I got hooked. I read all three in a couple weeks and then Started reading the light bringer series too.
