I’ve found that for me sometimes reading Graphic novels or Manga can help get me reading again. Or other times (after a lot of searching) I find a book that will get me reading again.

I had that for a long time and still have it on and off from time to time. The trick is not to push it. The more you push it, the longer the block will last. Just try to find something else to do, reread some old books, it’s always easier than old one and just wait. Patience is key even though it’s pretty annoying.

I have the same problem. The passed few weeks I haven’t wanted to read. I bought Steelheart from my local thrift store & it’s helping me out very much. Just finished the prologue & love it.

It happens. Usually, once I pick up a book that’s all I want to do is read. But lately it’s been a struggle and it took me *weeks* to finish a book that I’d ordinarily have completed within a few days. Feel free to let yourself do other things. You’ll come back to it eventually. Or you can pick up books (new or known) and just see which one catches your attention enough to bring back the desire to read again 🙂

I am busy in other things like doodling and sketching. Maybe that’s why I am sacrificing the reading.

That’s what I have been doing. I’ve been more interested in playing my video games and writing than reading lately. What I’ve taken to doing is when I’m out of the house and know I’m going to end up waiting, I’ll bring my book. So at home I can do whatever I want but when I’m out I’ll reserve it for books. It helps having a “schedule”.

I have a series I need to read. So I took the book and stuck it in the car to read while I wait to pick up my kids. Not going super fast but it’s worked .

Also happens to me frequently, especially after reading a good book! No book captivated me after reading: The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.

I’m remodeling a house and moving and haven’t read in 2 months. I just don’t have the time or energy to read! I tried listening to audio books and they seem to be lighting my reading fire ? ? maybe when your life settles and the thing that is in the front of your mind is done, you will swing back into reading?!

I went 6/12 months one time from 2/3 books a month. Sometimes I think we need a rest and maybe something else is keeping you interested. I was having a bad patch and couldn’t concentrate on reading. Little did I know it was probably the one thing that would have helped x
