Almost all the time. I think it adds to the story.

Sometimes. If it’s more than a page or two, then no. I may go back and read it afterwards, if I LOVED the book, but I’m not huge on the introductions, or long winded dedications, etc.

Me neither. I may read it *after I’ve finished the book and enjoyed it so much I go back read every last word, even down to the acknowledgements! Then read the whole thing all over again! Lol but that’s mainly because I’m a skimmer…as in I read very quickly whilst not necessarily taking in each word, a sort of mental fast forward! Does that make sense to anyone else? :). ( apologies for all the exclamation marks BTW, a bad habit of mine!!!) 🙂

“A good writer can write a bad thing good and a good thing into a bad thing.” A wise writer once surprised himself by saying this

I prefer to read it afterwards because I don’t want it to colour my reading of the book. That way the introduction has more resonance for me. Depends on the nature of the book of course.

It all depends on the book. If it’s s series, I don’t. But I’m reading a book about WWII, so I read the intro, my history is a bit rusty. lol

Occasionally…usually if the cover catches my eye then I’ll go ahead and read the introduction/synopsis or whatever like if it’s a book that is well known and I’ve heard about it then most of the time no but if it’s a book I’ve never seen or heard of then I’ll go ahead and read it lol
