Do you mean audible? Depends.on how many credits you want a Mth. Libraries usually have a steaming service they have partnered with that is free though

Scribd is less than $10/m with unlimited listens

It’s free through your local library and the Libby app. You just have to have a library card.

@Marie that is system to system though it depends on what resources her library system offers

That’s only some libraries. Not all.

And some use different services.

I use Overdrive with my library card for most of mine. Audible only for ones I can’t get easily & will probably listen to more than once.

I don’t think Audible is worth it. I use free services like Libby and Hoopla. Scribd sounds like a good deal

It’s wonderful. Also has paid podcasts, ebooks, and magazines.

Yeah that’s great but not worth the $$ to me ?‍♀️

@Nicole I was referring to scribd being wonderful since you said it sounded good. I dislike audible.
But I was throwing around pronouns without their antecedents. So that’s my fault.

I use Overdrive with my local library and I also have audible. Both are great.

Audible starts at $14.95/mo for 1 audiobook. I love Audible,
But it’s according to your personal taste if that $$ is worth one book. I love it. They have extra free reads if you are a subscriber that to me make it well worth it.

Had Audible for a few months but their “exchange anytime” clause became less and less convenient as I had to chat with an amazon rep each time. One book a month wasn’t keeping up. Upgraded to Scribd for $9-something/mo and noticed that as soon as I checked something out, most of my wish list became unavailable until next month. Your local library probably offers ebooks and audiobooks online for free, typically 5 or 10 at a time for 2-3 weeks using an app on your phone or tablet. There are also distant libraries that will let you join for around $25/yr. I joined Fairfax County, Virginia for $27/yr and am impressed with their selection. It uses the Overdrive/Libby app, also.

It can be expensive. I use Overdrive through my library and I pay for a subscription through Scribd. Much better than the 14.95 for one audiobook through Audible.

Free thru Overdrive via my library.

I get mine through the library. My library offers 2 apps I can use to borrow audio otherwise they also have CDs to check out which are easy to transfer to a phone or mp3 player. I love audio, but they’re expensive, so I don’t buy them.

I get two credits a month through audible. This is only used on audible exclusive books.

I also subscribe to scribd. My library has a massive library of audio books but waitlists take forever. I only get 1 book I want every two months or so lol. I gave up. Sometimes having an excessively busy library system sucks
