The cover doesn’t deter me from reading a book. Covers are what usually cause me to impulse buy especially when they are ?.

I’m the same as @Elizabeth! If I see a really pretty cover, the chances of me buying it are infinitely more likely?

I don’t read a book if the description doesnt sound good even if the cover is pretty. But I am more likely to pick up a book and read the description if the cover is pretty

Whenever I’m browsing books I look for the pretty covers, then when I see one I like I look up the plot and see if it sounds interesting, if it checks off both boxes then I get it!

I didn’t care about covers before. But I have started to since I joined bookstagram ? but I care most about the plot. The problem is being a librarian I try to teach the kids to not borrow a book after the cover ??

Covers don’t matter really. I’m all about the story.

I’m guilty of not reading books with ugly covers and guilty of searching for the prettiest edition before buying a book

40-70% of my decision to read a book is based on the cover. I have read books with bad covers (even my all time fave has a not great cover) – but if I’m on the fence it may be what turns me off or onto the book. And I often read books because the cover/title alone was alluring. But it’s not just about “good” and “bad” covers. I pick books often at random and the cover gives me an idea of the genre and (hopefully) style.

If the cover is super terrible then I’ll get the book on audible instead of physical copy or see if the paperback is better or if the UK version on book depository is better. I won’t all together not read it though.

I’m far more likely to pick up a book with an eye catching cover and check out its blurb. Not necessarily pretty but it’s gotta draw me.

I probably won’t pick up the book to read the synopsis if I don’t think the cover looks interesting

I will pick up a book by the cover or title….

Sometimes! I definitely judge kindle books by the cover.

It depends. What I do is check out the cover, read the title, turn the book over and read the blurb, then I proceed to decide whether I take the book or not. I’ve bought books whose cover are plain or ridiculous but the story is amazing and I’ve bought books with beautiful covers with atrocious stories that make cringe. So its a 50-50 for me.

I base whether I read the book on the synopsis, but if a cover looks good, it for sure leads me to picking it up
