Just about love all his book. The most scary for me was It and Dr. Sleep which is the sequel to The Shining. If you’re not into creepy~ try his Mr. Mercedes series.

I loved that series I couldn’t put it down

1
Sheree

@Daryl do you like weak women who get redemption and strength? If so, try Rose Madder.

0
Daryl

I yes I loved that book too I recommend that one a lot the first SK book I read was Cell I really like that one I was 11 when I started reading King he is my all time favorite

1
Sheree

@Daryl one of mine too although I had a hard time getting into The Dark Tower series. I went to see the movie this summer~ which I loved. Then, started the series and it didn’t quite match up. I should probably give it another try.

0
Daryl

Oh yes most definitely I watched the movie and literally was upset they try to fit 7 novels into 1 movie they’re absolutely amazing you don’t know what your missing but I understand it took me 3 trys starting it before I actually finished them

1
Stephanie

I suggest not watching the Dark Tower movie. It isn’t about the book series, it’s a different reality/another version of his original idea. If your not into wired stuff 11/22/63, and Under the Dome are great stories. Gerald’ s Game is terrifying for many reasons, and the movie on Netflix does it amazingly!

0
Daryl

Oooooh Under the Dome I loved that one too

I have 8 or 9. My favourites are On Writing, The Stand and It.

You should try reading the Green Mile. It’s an excellent story and not scary at all. It’s not a “typical” Stephen King book.

0
Sarah

Dolores Claiborne and 11/22/63 aren’t creepy, nothing like this scary stuff. I felt the same way but I enjoy his non creepy stuff!

Pat

I really prefer his short story collections to his novels, which are always hit or miss for me. I really liked 11/22/63, but I don’t think I’ve ever finished any other of his novels.

I love the movie. Is the book better? I am not a big fan but….if the book is good…i just might have to read it. Lol

0
Lorrie

@Crystal the book was so much better than the movie I can’t even make a comparison. Big books are a commitment but in this case very much worth the read. The best of King in description and plot.

Martina

I don’t like most of his work. I did like the one he wrote for his daughter. I don’t remember his name.

@JoAnna I have tried a few. Just not my style. I guess that’s why it’s great there are so many different styles. Something for everyone! I did like the movie “The Green Mile” But haven’t found any others that I like.

On Writing is FANTASTIC! I loved The Cell. It hasn’t received the raving reviews as it should. It’s a Stephen King book that starts on page two. No 200 pages of character development or scene setting. You open the book and BAM it starts. But of course my favorite is The Dark Tower. ?

I like most of his books I’ve read, but I feel like he goes on and on and on and on way more than necessary. Like “The Dome,” that book could have been about 300 pages shorter. But, that aside I do enjoy the books of his I read
