I wish I could, I think I have stories in my head I just don’t know how to express it on paper. I usually go straight to the point when narrating anything so I think I would be a horrible writer ?
I wake from sleep with full plots in my head. So I keep a dream journal. I am actually writing a book but it’s more for therapeutic purposes. I have no clue of what I am doing. Stephen King’s On Writing has been a great inspiration. The key with writing is just writing. Good luck to everyone who is trying to follow their dreams whatever they may be.
I write and have published poetry. I’ve always written the odd poem, but start doing it seriously about ten years ago. I write for myself, but tend to write environmental and human rights poems as well. I’ve hit a dry spell lately, but will be writing again soon. I also read poetry. Mary Oliver, Jane Kenyon, Wendell Berry, Billy Collins and James Wright are among my favorites.

Me. Someday!
I’m a writer, my success remains to be seen
Ive always been a writer but nothing to show for it YET
I’ve wrote stuff off and on since I was 18. Had a college professor who also told me to pursue it but I think my fear of failure holds me back
Same here but I write because I think I will be more unhappy if I never tried or never finished.
@Charlene oh yes I totally understand that.

I write content for businesses for a living, but writing fiction is my love. I wrote my first book last year and am almost done with revisions. ???
That’s great. Good luck.
Thank you!
Only in my head, not counting HS and college.
Once upon a time, I was reading to become a better writer. Lately, it has been all reading.

I love Billy Collins.
Some day perhaps.
I gave up that aspiration the moment I finished Pat Conroy’s The Prince of Tides. I can’t beat that even in my dreams.
Nope.
I consider myself a writer, although only some short stories, poems and lyrics got published. Two novels remain unpublished.
