The cover. The title. The author. The synopsis.

I am only human. Beautiful cover can get me to pick up a book by an unknown author.

Yes I am guilty as well. But a beautiful cover can sometimes have ugly and uninteresting content .

Most of the time I pick a book because of the cover…and they also look beautiful on my bookshelf

I am guilty too. Sometimes they just say, ‘I’m a good one’.

Always. But when someone I like says “you HAVE to read this” I pay attention. I would have never read “Our Short History” because the cover didn’t speak to me. Ann Garvin said it rocked her world so I read it and WOAH!! ❤️❤️❤️

And if the cover has a dawg or yummy looking food on the cover… I’ll most likely bite. I am SO predictable.

GUILTY, but I also read the first paragraph and the black flap, because I’m usually in the book store or library when I’m making a decision.

First the cover than the short story line inside or back of book.

Yes! I never read books with half naked men or voluptuous women, but love covers that are different and interesting

All the time! Also, if the first line of the what the book is about doesn’t catch my attention in the first few words, it immediately goes back on the shelf. I won’t even bother reading the rest of what the book is about!!

Absolutely! And I hate that I really don’t see or appreciate the cover because I pay no attention to them on my e reader. HOWEVER, whenever I am shopping I snap pictures of interesting covers with my cell phone then look them up later to see if it is really something I want to read.

My thumb rule is if I like the cover, and he author picked out the cover, then I might like the authors work. ?

I am drawn to books with beautiful covers. However, I normally have the book on my list that I am going to read.

If it isn’t an author I know or recommended by a friend, title and cover have to intrigue me or I usually don’t pick it up to see what it’s about. I’m probably missing a lot of good books, but it’s true.
