San Diego Public Library. I love my Linda Vista Branch. Los Angeles Public Library for ebooks- SDPL recently replaced Overdrive with a system that only lets one read through an app, not a regular Kindle. LAPL has Overdrive and more books.

0
Reply
Gretchen

Did they give a reason for the switch? I’d assume it has to do with money in some way ?

0
Susan

@Gretchen I have asked and they said more people read through their phone and they offered to give me and Amazon Fire so I could read through an app. Why would they be giving every patron who has a regular kindle and Amazon fire if there were not some financial incentive. I have complained saying they are harming their most loyal readers who choose a Kindle that is just for books and nothing else. And that holds a charge for a long time. And they are losing circulation We will see what happens
