@Sara it sucks when life gets in the weight of reading. I do most of my reading on the bus to work on my hour-long lunch or for a little bit on week dates after my daughter has gone to bed winde down

It depends on the book and my understanding to it.

Some short ones I manage to finish within a day. Then there are some I started more than a decade ago and never finished even though I always meant to.

Depends on the book and what else is going on in my life. Guessing, probably a average of 3 to 4 days.

Depends on me and on the book – some I want to devour, some I want to savor and some I just want to hurry and get it over with!

It seems when my kids were younger and I worked, I had more time for reading even though I was busier. Now I have a lot of free time and I found myself missing reading. I’ve consciously started reading more a few months ago. I’m not setting any records or anything, but I’m giving myself 2 weeks to read a book. My mother always used to say, “give a busy person another job and it will get done”. So true!

Depends on the book and size. Most are done in a week. But Patricia Cornwall’s Port Authority is taking me 2 years

Reading ….?It depends on the book. As a full time working mother, I read at night (insomniac) so can absorb a really good book within two evenings and if its long and tedious but “ I have to do it” then I will take a couple of weeks because I read other books in between. Sometimes I juggle 3 or 4 books. – depending on my mood and level of distraction. I find reading a romance or mystery keeps me in a better head space. Life is hard, I get too emotionally tied up in the story. Prefer books that make me smile for ages afterward.

Usually, I try to read everyday but life often gets in the way!!! “The schedule” rules what reading time I get. And, I’m really struggling to get through “Arcadia” by Iain Pears so it’s taking longer than is typical for me. I just don’t like the premise for this story and am trying to slug ? through to the end…always hoping that I can find redemption on the last page…?
