If by ‘share’ you mean lending? Then I never lend. I’d sooner buy a book for someone rather than let them have a copy that I own.

On a separate sheet in my plastic pocket of various lists, I have a list of ones I’ve given to my mother. But it’s ok with her, there’s no urgency to get them back to me.

I have lost a few…I have a couple of good friends who always return and usually bring back more than they borrowed…When I loose one I just figure I will get more and I’ve already read the lent book so I try to just let it go

I only lend books I intend to get rid of. Never read the same book twice so if I buy it, I read it and then donate when done. ?

I’ve lent out three. In my life. Easy to track.
Once in high school, it was never returned and my family eventually lost faith in that person’s integrity. Once to my mother -she has it on a shelf, waiting for me to come get it in a couple months. And once to my brother, I put a sticky pad note on the last page reminding him that I wanted it back, we’ll see how it goes.

I keep track of what I read on Goodreads, and I have a notebook in my purse to make sure I don’t buy ones I have already read. Once I give them away, then they are gone. Not keeping track what leaves the house.

Most of my friends aren’t readers, so it’s not really an issue

I’ve learned a valuable lesson. I use to track them via a bullet journal. But then some people never return them so I don’t lend books anymore. 🙁

If I lend a book out I don’t expect to get it back. I own sooo many books that it’s OK if some go missing. It’s a bonus if i get it back.

I share too many. I have an idea of what I have bought and read. Sometimes, it takes years before my beloved book is magically reunited with me. I then put it in my personal library and dont borrow it out unless I make it a point to buy yet another copy. I love sharing books with people and find that if I borrow them out enough, that book has made a differnece in their life and that is what reading is all about.
