I think people get too caught up in the tracking
The app I use keeps track of my history, but I rarely look at it

Mines just good, old-fashioned pen&paper list. I make my own yearly diary so I’ve included 6 lined Reading List pages at the start 🙂

wow super nice journal, are those quotes ???

0
Kerstin

@Heleen No. It’s the number (coloured / different colours for different months). Title, author, time I need to read the book, genre, pages, rating.

I don’t really track. Amazon does a good job of telling me what books i already bought. I always buy used there. Occasionally I use goodreads. I do buy duplicates on occasion. Unintentionally.

I’ve had a journal that I’ve used since 2004. I write the title & author & date I start it. At the end of the year, I total it. I also keep monthly totals, & write in the ones that I borrow fro Overdrive since I use my Kindle. That way I can see how much I’ve saved

Mine is mostly old fashioned pen and notebook but I have used Goodreads. It is just easier, for some reason, for me to write it down than add it online. You will find a way that is easiest for you. ?

All good…I find it works well for me and has everything I need. I mainly use it when I’m to slack to update goodreads.

1
Nita

@Megan Woww….and you able to track all this ??

0
Megan

@Nita yep have been using every method for about 3 years and haven’t missed a book, I always make the last day of the month the day where I double check that everything is recorded and then on the 31/12 I always triple check and set up my shelves and book for the next year.

1
Nita

@Megan This is really great ?

@Brandy – I love these journals. This company has a ton of different topics to choose from, but I only use the book journals. ?

2019 I’m going to use Goodreads. Plus i wanted another reading challenge. Never done one but two didn’t seem like enough so I downloaded the Goodreads app to do the 2019 challenge. A trifecta of reading challeneges to motivate me.

I don’t bother to track the amount of books I read, I just read! But I love goodreads where I can review the odd book that hit me in the bread basket (for better OR worse), and I keep my wish list there because I keep forgetting what books I want!t ^_^

Goodreads is primary because of its huge database and integration with kindle. I also use evernote to manually enter books and typically a line or two of comment on what I liked about it.

I keep track on my blog and on Goodreads.

I like Goodreads because it keeps track of when I finished the book.

I also have online calendar, but that only lists books read and to be read, but not the time frame.

I need the completion date for when I post my reviews. ?

I don’t use anything. I tried using goodreads before but had to stop. I love to reread books through the year and can only count them as reading them once. In my world I should be able to count each time I read a book even if I read it twice in the same year.

Heather

@Sabra Goodreads changed this some time ago. You can now add multiple dates read to books, and I’m pretty sure they count in your challenge even if you read them in a prior year.

Janet

I don’t count, I never have. On avg I read two-three books a week. But I’m into the number of books, I don’t care about that. I’m into the growth from books.
