No, never use ANY liquid on paper. In fact, if the dust has settled and it likely has, or they would not need to ask, . . . what you suggest will be a disaster as the dampness will turn the settled dust into mud. ?
That would stain the book if the dust is really bad. The water would mix with the dirt in the dust and make a muddy smear that will not be able to be removed. Dont do that please yikessss.
I do that exact same thing! I have so many separated socks (my boys laundry especially) & I’ll save them for dusting. Last night my eldest son came home w/ his laundry. I did it & was saddened by all the lone socks. He actually asked me what was wrong. I asked him to look under his bed for their mates and joked Mr. & Mrs. Sock r probably very sad they’re separated! He laughed, remembering I used to put them on my hands when he was a wee little one & did a puppet show! 😉
A duster?
I request for all of us to stand up and clap our hands for this wonderful man over here, congratulation
My ingenuity knows no bounds
Your mind is thrice the brain power of Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton
I humbly accept this
Let us all rise again to congratulate the man who holds the future of our world
Might as well make a speech
Vacuum.
If the dust has “settled” on the book, . . . the upholstery tool is just about your only option. ?
A roomba
Paint brush it’s done in 3 ticks
Read it frequently!
Get you a dry rag and a water spritzer. Spritz the rag VERY lightly and go over it.

@Kim works really well. I shake it outside like a feather duster.
I put an old sock over my hand and wipe them down.
