I rec’d email and then 2 days later I got the book. I’ve rec’d ARCs from St. Martin’s Press before so they have my name. Other people have rec’d different books which I haven’t but not sure of publisher.
Usually if you have already established a relationship with the publisher, they have you on a list for future opportunities. I review books on a blog and often get things mailed to me from various publishers.
They are actually in document form on your phone or iPad/ computer but I read the on my phone or my kindle reader like an ebook but not as many options for print ECT.
Christie Temple ebooks only-sorry I took so long. If you enter giveaways on http://goodreads.com/ or from a Publisher then you will get an actual book.
Check to see if Sandie Jones has a street team ask to join and ask if you can review an ARC. A lot of indie authors do have street teams and do look for reviewers.
Hi Diane! As many readers have suggested here, one of the best ways to receive ARCs is to follow publishers on their social channels (and the authors) to watch for giveaway announcements. Goodreads is also an excellent place to find giveaways for upcoming books! -LJ
I got an email for that book saying I’d get an ARC. Got another email later saying that people were accidentally sent multiple copies so there is none left for their die hard reviewers. I will not be buying it now, that’s for sure. I will probably borrow from someone, but I will not be reviewing it. I only review books that were sent to me for such. I also am on a book buying freeze so we can afford our family vacation to Disney World… But you need to subscribe to the Shelf Awareness email, enter giveaways on Goodreads, and if you are into fake books, NetGalley
Ebooks are fake books. A total rip off. I use to have an ereader, it crapped out real quick, and instead of the company fixing it, they advised me to buy another one. It wasn’t even two months old. I cannot afford another one. My mom has one, and half the books don’t play. That is usually the complaint I hear, most of the books will poop out and freeze part way through. Real books don’t do that. I once bought a book, started reading it only to discover it was missing 16 pages. I emailed the publisher, and 2 days later I had a replacement copy, 4 other books they published, and a gift card to Amazon for $50 as an apology. My mom had an ebook with missing pages, she emailed publisher and they said that was too bad, she should have bought a physical copy.
They arent “fake books”. I highly doubt they told your mom she should’ve bought a real one, especially if she paid for it and it wasnt a free book. I use kindle all the time, including through my local library for ebooks. As well as my mom uses hers, for years and years, she had a kindle fire too before you could just get the app.. We have never had a problem. Just becaus you had issues with one or 2 doesnt mean they are “fake books”. ????
Only people who are die are kindle fans talk like that. Until you’ve been on the other side, you don’t know what you are talking about and shouldn’t go on rampages defending useless technology. I still have the email that she sent to them, and the receipt for her payment of the “book” is clearly on it and attached as well.
Lmao I’m not a “die hard” kindle fan, and that defintely wasnt a rampage. Ebooks still arent fake books because of what happened to your mom. ? Have some good vibes, seem you need them with how seriously you’re taking my “rampage”.
It has happened to more than just my mom. It has happened to so many people that our local library just stopped using them. The public library was terribly sick of all the instability that the e readers and eBooks caused, and the community was not fans of them either, the library just quit. I mean, I live in a city with several thousand people…
On their giveaway page they even have a filter where you can see the ones ending soonest- I go there each night to see if there are any I want to try to win

Sign up at http://netgalley.com/ and request books that interest you then review when you are done reading.
@Melissa can a person review on Netgallery even if they don’t get books from there?
@Donna You can only review e-galley books on the ones that you get approved on your netgalley shelf.
@Donna I don’t believe so
@Carissa thank you, I figured this was the way it worked.
@Melissa is this only for ebooks or print as well?

@Melissa thanks for the reply! ❤️
What everyone has mentioned before and if you follow the publishers on social media they advertise their giveaways – Goodreads has several as well
I have been a reviewer for @NetGalley for many years. Good suggestion from @Melissa
I got the author’s previous book so I got this book. There’s a Goodreads giveaway going on right now.
That happened w/me w/B.A. Paris’ books.

Check with your local independent book store….or….ask a friend who works at one
Goodreads also does giveaways of ARCs, keep notice in your facebook adds and emails from publishers. Current stack of ARCs and goodreads wins
Looks like it is available to request on NetGalley
Some authors have just an ARC team as well
Are you on NetGalley? That’s a good place to get advanced copies for e-reader.
Oops I see that’s been suggested. Yes, NetGalley is only for e-books. Goodreads is another place that does both kinds of book giveaways.

What do you mean fake books?

On their giveaway page they even have a filter where you can see the ones ending soonest- I go there each night to see if there are any I want to try to win
