I started reading Carry On by Rainbow Rowell at the beginning of the year and have since only read 118 pages and had to set it down. I couldn’t get into it enough.

Too many books, too little time.

I hate giving up on a book but I am starting to realize there are too many great books out there to waste time!

I just wasted two months trying to force myself to read this book ? my husband noticed that I needed to read a new book so he bought me one I was looking at in the store.

I don’t. Life’s too short to force myself to read anything.

Meh… I read what I like. Too many goodies to waste time on something I am not enjoying.

Not a bit! Sometimes I come back and find it was just a matter of timing. But if it’s a stinker, bye! Too many good books out there for that mess!

I don’t feel bad. I read a book for my interest, not because someone else liked it.

Not at all, life would be boring if we all liked the same thing

I wonder how we can feel so different about the same book..however that’s as far as it goes.

I scratch my head and wonder if it’s me, or the book..then pick something else. Sometimes I think it’s more a matter of poor timing..

If I don’t get into a book, no matter what everyone else thinks. I just don’t finish it. May get it as Audio instead, there are too many GREAT books out there I would rather read, then one that’s just going to sit on my table and never be read even though I did give it an honest try

Sometimes Audio books helps with not giving up on a book

There is something about hearing someone else read the book that makes it more approachable. I learned that back in grade school when I tried to read A Wrinkle In Time..couldn’t get into it, but then my teacher read it aloud , and opened it up completely.

We all like to be told stories once in awhile

Sometimes I give it another try at a different time, but if it’s not working the second time, I set it aside. I’m a huge Stephen King fan, but there have been a couple I couldn’t get into.

I try my best not to start books I am not really dying to read because I feel that if I start it, I should finish. I do admit to skimming something I am not crazy about just to finish it or see if it gets better.

I usually finish all books I start reading. There are alot of popular authors that I just don’t like their writing. Everyone has their own preference and favorites. Just cause one person may like a particular author doesn’t mean you should too. Life would be boring if everyone liked the same things…

I never, ever finish a book I’m not enjoying. There’s too many books to waste precious reading time on a story that doesn’t resonate. And I don’t feel bad, at all. The author doesn’t know.

I always wonder if we read the same book.

Never feel bad. I have precious little time to read…if the story doesn’t hold me or the writing style annoys me, I drop it like it’s hot.

I don’t. I just remember my tastes aren’t everyone’s. I often find I don’t love the same books everyone else seems to.

When I retire I plan to to part of a book club. I imagine the challenge will be greater then.
