The show is amazing, I would say read the books first it’s so much better to know the characters and the the story line while watching it. But my mother loves the show without reading any of the books. The show does have some changes but they have primarily stuck to the books.
The first 2 are great.. The 3rd and 4th has its very slow moments it picks up back around the 5th book.. overall I’d give the entire series a 4. If u like romance and history you should really enjoy them.. 😉
Just one recommendation give the first book 50 pages before judging I found it had a slow start but this book ruined all other books for me I have nver found a book yet that I liked more!
It took me almost a year to read the first book, ( mostly because I spend too much time playing games ). I wasn’t overly impressed. But looks like I am in the minority here.

Yes, and it’s mostly quite faithful to the books . The casting is perfect
