The first book was pretty good
I could t read them. Finished the first but it was just too much for me. Too much info, characters, bloodlines idk.
I’ve never seen the show but the books are AWESOME
They’re good. I watched the show first, it made it easier for me to keep track of who’s who
I had trouble reading the first one. I had to keep going back and forth, reading and rereading.

They are OK. From the third book on, it just lowers the quality and there r 5 of them… 2 more have to come but the author doesn’t seem to b able to finish them… So get ready to wait…
They can be long and tedious at some points… I take notes to not get lost
The books are incredibly detailed and descriptive. If you’re a plot oriented person more than a detail oriented person, I would recommend the show instead
Oh wow. I am a fan of the show so the books must be brilliant. I have heard of some variations in the shows characters vs the books but luckily not enough to be a spoiler.
Like them but there are a lot of characters to keep track of and quite a few interweaving plot lines.
I got bored with them. But that’s just me; mileage undoubtedly varies.
Ive seen the show and read the books (currently on fest for crows) and I love the books more.

The books have more depth and complexity. Though as others have already said it can be hard to keep track of all the characters and plot lines. The show actually simplified some of that…
The books are great, a lot more detail…. lots to read.
The books are great. Just remember that it takes several years for grrm to release so youll be waiting a bit for the conclusion of the series.

I just got all five books recently and i havent actually started the series yet but i will tell you that if you get the books be prepared to do a lot of reading lol. The books are huge!
I’m not worried about the length, I can finish a 700 page book in about 2-3 days if I’m really into it.
One of the books is over 900 pages. Happy reading! lol

I haven’t read the books but I have read large books in a short amount of time.
For me I think it was cause the writing was in such small print
For me it honestly depends on each book. Many factors play in to how fast I finish a book. Like if I’m really into it, not that into it, am busy, the print size, etc.

the books are a BILLION times better than the show, and I like the show 🙂 Very hefty epic fantasy but easy reading and fantastic writing. Well worth it.
Very difficult to follow for me with so making characters and unique names!

The books are great…so effing far (finish the dang books series already!).
The only GOT I’ve seen so far from TV is Bad Lip Sync which is kind of epic.

I started reading the first one couple years ago but it really is a good block it’s just me I work crazy shifts or I did and was unable to finish it but what I did read it but I totally enjoyed

If you like horror novels.. go for it. If you like fantasy.. there are much better books out there.

The books are AWESOME, but the show diverts strongly at a certian point, I had to explain to my husband why I was like WHAT WHAT WHAT!!!!HUHHHH!!! I want to at least re read the first book again, the next book is supposed to come out this year….I hope, I keep searching on that.

I love the show, but personally feel the books are much, much better.
The books are really good, but if you are not used to traditional Fantasy style writing they can be overwhelming. It switches perspective just about every chapter and they are intensely descriptive. Just be warned when you start them about things of that nature and I think you will have a much better time reading them, or at least not get as frustrated with them

Books are better although he does drag out parts of them out a lot so can feel a hard read at times through those sections.

They are epic
Great read. It was strange at first to read Martin in a fantasy/historical environment but it gets your attention right away and you can’t put it down. Make sure you don’t read when you are hungry. XD

Too much gore and too many characters to follow. I prefer my books to focus on just a handful of characters
Even with show I only watch the parts that have my fav characters
