Either library, share shop (like a thrift store) or the spca in my town has a book store as well. Share shop in my town sells all books for about 10 cents each and the spca sells them for $1.

If you have a half price books keep an eye out for their clearance sale. Pittsburgh has a massive one fills the convention center with books everything $2 or less. Mass market paper backs are $.50. It’s a great chance to stock up. I know other areas have their own annual sales.

I get most of mine at the thrift store or at library clearance events. Some libraries also have used book stores.

2nd and Charles (store) if you have one near you. They have mostly second hand books in good condition. Also you can take them any books you don’t want anymore. If they want any of them to sell they’ll give you what they value them at. They’ll then give you that balance in cash or as a store credit.

Little Free Library

Julie

The free Library which is 3 blocks from my house, I was taking books to it, and someone had ripped the door off and shoved all these books crazy in there. So, I took out all the books, lined them all up and made it look presentable again, people are just monsters. They are like the people who fold down the corner of the page to keep their place.

0
Stacy

@Julie, there are several in my town, and they were all Eagle Scout projects, so they are well-maintained. Each one is located at a school (elementary, middle and high school), so when I am giving a book, I have to decide if it’s appropriate for the location, lol. When in doubt, I donate it to the thrift store. I don’t want to be That Person ?

2
Julie

Well, when I went through the books, I put them each a section I thought was appropriate, children’s, young adults, adults.

1
Stacy

@Julie Thank you for taking the time and care to make it inviting to others. Little Free Libraries are the best!

Julie

I know, they are great, I went to a library sale and bought all these books when I was much younger, loved reading them and put them in the little libraries, the next week they were all gone.

The library. If you want to own, some have sections where they sell books throughout the year. Online I like Book Outlet. I’ve purchased second hand from the Amazon and Barnes and Noble marketplaces. I read the reviews and only order from top rated sellers. When the weather gets warmer, tag sales and again the libraries. My local libraries will do a huge fundraiser. Hope this helps!
