The night circus
Night Circus
Night Circus, The Disappearing Act by R.L Walker
Pretty much any book by Kerri Maniscalo or V.E. Scwabb
The Night Circus will probably be my next read, I just finished The Hazel Wood
@Tam How did you like The Hazel Wood?
I loved it but I thought it had a lackluster, anticlimatic ending.
@Tam I’ve heard that from a few people. I may still give it a shot though, I’ve just been on the fence about it.
In my mind I wrote a different ending, one that connected it to the beginning of the story.
@Tam that’s awesome. ?
Escaping from Houdini (book 3 in stalking Jack the Ripper) was a cool mystery carnival book. First two have romance and mystery to but no magic
Love Kerri’s books
My new favorite series!!! They are awesome!!!
Are they individual novels kinda like what AHS does for each new season or is it like a legitimate continuation off the last book? Seems like theyre all different from the covers
They are different but they all mention events from the previous books, and they have the same characters
So better off reading them in order
@Jessica I would if I were you
…Legendary?
I was coming to say this too ?
Will be done tonight, I have 1 hour left to listen to. I should’ve said Caraval series but there’s the third book coming out in the spring that I plan to read still
Throne of Glass
Listening to this series with my husband, we are on Queen of Shadows and loving it but since we are listening together I need a book I can listen or read on my own because I’m a bit of a book junkie
That’s so fun! I just finished the final book and am in a major book hangover. I’d recommend Six of Crows! I haven’t read the sequel yet, but I really liked Leigh Bardugo’s writing style!
@Erin I’ll have to check it out! And what are you thinking of reading next or are you still looking?
I’m still looking but I figure I should finish War Storm at some point soon. The sequel to Six of Crows is also on my list, but I’ve heard that it has some spoilers for Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha trilogy, so I’m leaning towards that before I start Crooked Kingdom. And I want to finish rereading The Hunger Games trilogy. Basically I have lots of ideas and just need to pick one and stick with it lol
@Erin yeah…I started War Storm and had to stop, was not happy with it, some people enjoyed it, some people hated it…im some where in the middle but didn’t enjoy it enough to finish it. Ive been meaning to check out the Six Crows books, and loved the hunger games trilogy…thats always a good read, though the excitement of the not knowing what will happen next is kind of gone when you have already read it ?♀️
Do you have a specific genre or theme of book you’re really into? I’ve been kind of on a book binge this year and plowed through 40 since March. I might have some suggesitons
I usually read YA Fantasy, Sci-fi, or dystopian, but I’m open to most other genres! I think I’ve settled on War Storm so I can decide for myself how I like it. It was just that when it first came out I was in the mood for something super action packed and it wasn’t fulfilling that
@Erin well once you’re done. You should check out Renegades, Scythe, The Gifting, and actually you might enjoy the first 3 books of the Selection
Mulling over any others that fit that category that I read this year
Thanks, I’ll have to add those to my list! I reread the first Hunger Games book in August for the first time since high school almost 7 years ago, and I found so many moments that I had forgotten. And I also found myself having a newfound appreciation for Katniss and how guarded and distrusting she was after reading Red Queen and Throne of Glass. When I first read the series I thought it was so obvious from the beginning that Peeta really loved her, but this time I was really able to put myself in her shoes and mindset more. I want to reread the others soon since the series celebrates its 10th anniversary this year
Legendary is the sequel to caraval and is also amazing. The lunar chronicles are a fun read with lots of magic. I also really enjoyed Everless but is has less magic and more of a royal feel. There’s still some magic but it’s not a lot. A Tale if Red Riding, and Unenchanted are both have a lot of magic but it’s more fairy tale magic than caraval.
I think I have a copy of Lunar Chronicles kicking around in my to read pile somewhere
It’s probably my favorite series. I absolutely love it. ❤️❤️
I grabbed Everless today, think I’ll check that one out after whatever I choose to read now, it looks interesting but I don’t want a long wait between finishing it and when the second book comes out, id rather read them back to back 😀
Thank you for the great suggestions. I added A tale of red riding and unenchanted to my to read list on good reads to pick up in the future. I usually get in a “fairy tale” mood during the christmas holidays or in spring. I read ACOTAR start to finish this past spring(well, of whats currently available)
the black witch chronicles
@Meagan I literally JUST put this down 5 minutes ago.
I second the night circus! I loved it!
This book was amazing.
I got this book in my owl crate a few months back. It’s is really good too. ❤️
Just picked this one up today 😀 think Hubby might even listen to it with me, sounds awesome.
