As soon as I finished the book I watched the movie. Gave myself a huge headache from all the crying ?. It’s really good. One of my all time favorites.

@Jacqueline Aww! I love those types of books and movies! I cannot wait then! I’m so glad it lives up to it’s hype! I was going to put it on my Xmas wish list but I don’t think I can wait that long haha! Which edition do you have? They have this massive gorgeous edition here that I have my eye on!

Mice and men is a short novel by John Steinbeck that always makes me cry. It’s not a love story but a life story. I also loved Grapes of Wrath but I love the classics

I read Of Mice and Men in high school actually and fell in love with it! I was shocked I liked it haha. I remember looking at and thinking “a play? And in like 30 pages?” Lol but it was so good! I haven’t read Grapes of Wrath before, I’ll have to check it out thanks!

For some reason this didn’t do it for me. I am usually an emotional reader, and this didn’t give me all the feels like other books did.

1
AnnaQuestion author

I was going to read that one but didn’t get a chance before I saw the movie ? I might still try to sometime though! Thanks!!

0
Tika

It’s so much better than the movie, and I really enjoyed the movie

AnnaQuestion author

@Natasha I find some books that promise to be tearjerkers just aren’t. It’s like they try too hard.

0
Natasha

@Anna yeah. It could also be that it was spoiled for me, or something little that bothered me or something else too.
If you do decide to read it i hope you like it better than i did! ?

0
AnnaQuestion author

@Natasha Aw thanks! That’s so sweet ? yeah sometimes a character tick drive me nuts and I can’t connect to him/Her and it ruins the book for me too.

I’m sorry to say I have read If I Stay and didn’t like it ? I was so disappointed. For me, it felt like it was trying too hard but that’s just my opinion! I’m glad you guys all loved it!! And thanks for the suggestion! ?

1
Natasha

@Anna it is understandable we all read books & take different things from them. We all have different likes & dislikes. No reason to apoligize or anything about it.

0
AnnaQuestion author

@Natasha Well I just wouldn’t wanna offend anyone simply because I didn’t enjoy the book! And personally, it hurts my soul a little bit when someone doesn’t love a favourite book of mine hahaha ?

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver really made my eyes red and puffy. There is a big sister/little sister storyline in the book that (as a big sister myself) really had me sobbing. I actually refuse to watch the movie because I don’t want to deal with all of that crying again ?

Tika

I keep forgetting about the movie!

Heather

I deliberately forget just to save my tear ducts lol!

2

Those sound like great suggestions thank you!! My sister’s keeper was so good!! Have you read Picoult’s Handle With Care?? It’s absolutely my favourite of hers and one of my fav books ever actually. It’s perfection and will have you sobbing throughout. Especially the end!
