Yes I’ve read the first two only but want to read more of them!
I strongly recommend it, I am one seventh book now and the new come out 3 of December this year. How’s your favorite so fare?
The first one. I dont really remember much about the 2nd one. I need to read them all and just read them all in a row. Once I get my current home TBR stack under control I’m going to branch out more with library books.
Melissa Evans good choices and good luck with moving houses
I read the full first series. I enjoyed them as a light read.
How’s your favorite so fare? Mine is Erak
Definitely Erak! But i also enjoyed the book with emperor shigeru and his friendship with horace ?
I would recommend reading the Spooks series next by joseph delaney. Very similiar but darker.
@Bobbi cool i’ll check it out when I am done reading the series and I totally agree Horace is a great character so much kindness
I loved that series as well as the Brotherband series. 😀
I haven’t read Brotherband yet, but I’ll definitely read it later
Definitely worth the read. I love how he incorporates actual tactics and weapons.
@Lea so true, the man definitely did his research there and he is writing genius. I can’t wait until I get the last book
I tore through that series and the Brotherband Chronicles.
everybody has different reading style I like going slow to take in the World
I meant that I just read all the books in a row. It was one of the few series where I wanted to keep reading rather than getting tired after a couple of books.
@Alex I know what you mean, John Flanagan is that good that a reader can’t stop reading
Read the first one years ago, haven’t gotten around to the others.
So yeah, not that good or I would have read the others right after
everybody likes different books and that’s awesome
Saw the seriy a couple months ago and put it on my TBR list.
cool I strongly recommend it
They were great
so ture
I thoroughly enjoyed them.
they are great
Agreed. I actually use them as minor teaching tools in certain jobs.
@Daemon cool, keep up the good work
Trying. haha
@Daemon that is all that matters trying over and over again
U know what, no one within my friend circle knows about it! But this is the most underrated YA fantasy novel. I fell in love after reading the first book!
I totally agree with you Norton it is, by the way who is your favorite character?
Definitely Halt and Horace. *Spoilers*
I love the fact that Horace hated Will so much and eventually became best buddies. And Halt, as mysterious as ever, makes him even more interesting !
I like Erak, but you have a lot good point and the fact that this too are married to to nc pepoli (trying not to spoil anything) I also like Gilan
@Norton May I ask why you consider this a fantasy series? I write fantasy and am interested in your answer.
I consider it an awesome fantasy series, but it has some elements of real life as well in form of the government and people’s status and some of the weapon as well, but over all its fantasy series
@Marthe Do the wargols make it fantasy? Or something else? For example, the fact that it’s set in a non-existent country?
@Lea all that mak it fantasy yes and the Wargols are scary, but the most scary is the Karlak
I think of this series as fantasy “light” or “diet fantasy”. There are almost no magic or supernatural elements past the first two books of the main series and the Early Years books.
This is not saying that it’s a bad thing. I think I enjoyed it because of it.
Thanks, folks! I write low fantasy (as opposed to high fantasy), so this is encouraging. 😀
@Lea for me, probably something in relation to medieval or ancient history. Something to do with knights, magician, thieves, and that sort. In this book, there’s nothing on magician, mostly medieval elements in it. I think i consider them a fantasy i guess…
@Norton Thank you!
@Lea good luck writing. Hope your book becomes amazing (if you are writing a book)
@Marthe Thank you! I have 8 out and am working on a slightly different kind of book now. No magic, just a mythical creature. Looks like it’s still fantasy! ?
@Lea cool sounds awesome =D I have only one completed book a badly written crime novel from seventh grade. but fantasy is the best and mythical creature are so interesting and amazing some of thm are petty scary
@Marthe My earliest writing sample is beyond atrocious! But if you want to write, a quote that’s helped me is that, “Great books aren’t written; they’re revised.” ? My current works are more fun than scary. I grew up on fun books. ?
@Lea I grew up on fun books to and some scary ones ? of the books gave me nightmares and to this day I can not read it unfortunately I don’t remember the title and I do not have the book ?
@Marthe Wow! That’s some thorough suppression! Maybe if you stumble across it as an adult it won’t be so bad? ?
@Lea I hope so I am 26 now and my favorite fantasy is Ranger’s Apprentice, Lord of the ring and Harry Potter ?
@Marthe Sounds like you might enjoy Adventurers Wanted!
@Lea Yes I am and I like adventurer book, but haven’t heard of Adventurers Wanted, is that a fantasy book series?
@Marthe Absolutely. The main character is walking by a store one day and sees a sign that says, “Adventurers wanted.” But not everyone can see that sign. 😀 And the fun begins!
@Lea cool search it on eBay and gus I am going to by that now the more fantasy the better
@Marthe 😀
Have you tried http://www.bookfinder.com/? They’re a pretty good resource for comparing book prices.
@Lea I’ll check it out later. Got to do something before I do that
