Like a western, or western/sci-fi mashup (like a western taking place on mars haha). I just saw an ad for red dead redemption 2 so I guess the western theme is in my head ??

Maybe a fantasy fairy tale retelling? Like a Snow White & Rose Red or a Red Riding Hood retelling maybe?

Spot on, Lisa!! It’s a Red Riding Hood retelling!

Lisa-Marie

Woo hoo! I love fairy tale retellings! Is it something you’re writing? There are definitely not enough red riding hood retellings, so I’m very excited now!

1
HannahQuestion author

@Lisa-Marie yes!! It’s a sci-fi retelling and it’s the first in a connected series of retellings. I’m about halfway through with it ?

Wow! That sounds fantastic! If you need a beta reader and/or someone to proofread, just shout, I’d be happy to help! I’m an English teacher, so finding grammar/spelling/punctuation errors is an occupational hazard! Lol! ;P

HannahQuestion author

@Lisa-Marie that would be amazing! I’m hoping to have a couple of beta readers when it’s done so I’ll definitely shoot you a message!

Lisa-Marie

No worries, I’d be very happy to help! One of my best friends is also an author & I proofread & edit all of her stuff, but she’s not published anything yet.

HannahQuestion author

@Lisa-Marie let me know if your friend needs a beta reader too! I’d love to help out ? or if you have anything you’ve written!

1
Lisa-Marie

Bless you, thank you! I’ll ask her when I see her. I’ve not got anything written at the moment, but I’m working on a book for toddlers! Lol! I read to tinies at the library once a week, and it has inspired me!

@Lisa-Marie wow good for you! I’m sure it’ll be a hit ?

I don’t know about that, but I’m having fun with it! I’ll need to find an illustrator eventually. There’s a fab artist on Etsy who does literary art (I bought a gorgeous Mia from Nevernight picture from her) who I’m hoping to persuade – I’m meeting her at YALC in London next month, so hoping to chat to her about ot then, if I have my first draft finished. She lives in the Netherlands, so it’ll be a good opportunity to talk face to face!

I’m sure your book WILL be a huge hit though, it sounds superb & will appeal to Lunar Chronicles fans, so you have a ready made demographic!

Sounds like a horror story.
