Wool by hugh howey. I don’t know what actual genre it is but it seemed at least a little sci-fi-ey.

The Laundry series by Charles Stross, starting with The Atrocity Archive. The stories, as Wikipedia puts it, mix the genres of Lovecraftian horror, spy thriller, science fiction, and workplace humor.
