@Arely – one of my beta readers teaches English in her country and told me that she uses this book of mine to for reading with her adult students lol (and it’s free, so yay!) – https://www.amazon.com/Sassy-Submissive-Stronghold-Book-ebook/dp/B00G64F9XM

These are pretty easy reads, technically they’re mysteries but they’re cozy mysteries, so they’re not scary or creepy or anything and the focus is on the characters / romantic story just as much as the mystery – https://www.amazon.com/Breaking-News-Avery-Mystery-Books-ebook/dp/B00UJEOM0G

Renee Rose & Lee Savino have a shifter romance series that is a fun, light read – https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0744MLV2F

One of my favorite series is the Percy Jackson series by Rick riordan! It’s middle grade so it should be easier to read (language isn’t too complex), but it’s still really good storytelling and engaging. It’s about Greek mythology in the modern day, and the first book is the lightning thief!! ?

Buy a Kindle & download your books. You can check the meaning of the words as you read with a touch of your finger!! A wonderful device.

I don’t mean to be insulting but start with a few books written for teens. Don’t give up!!! Books saved my life all my life, I can’t imagine not having that escape. If you lived close to me I would help you in person. ?

I think “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley and “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury are not difficult to understand for English learners if you have some upper intermediate level. Even if you don’t know some words, you learn them in the process, so reading only simple language won’t help you improve your level. If dystopian fiction may turn out to be harsh for you, there’s a lovely book “Just David” by Eleanor H. Porter. A children’s novel I still enjoy reading (well, it teaches adults to be kinder and more imaginative). I also think Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” is not difficult to read but you have to be a patient reader ’cause the saga is long… hmmm, ok, isn’t “Harry Potter” a reading dessert? 😉 Longer than Tolkien but it is highly readable, as for me. Rowling’s books are enjoyable (it’s like entertainment combined with old philosophies, legends, and Much Magic) and it will keep your English alert and alive.

Ken Follett’s books are easy to read. I would start with Pillars of the Earth. It is a great and interesting story but written in a simple straight forward way.

The Outsiders, The Fault in Our Stars, anything by Cynthia Voigt…I particularly like Homecoming and Jackaroo (an old one). Also The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, and Fried Green Tomatoes.
