the Rain Wild Chronicles – Robin Hobb

I was going to suggest Robin Hobb. But I’d start at the beginning with Assassins Apprentice.
I would also start with the first series, although you won’t find a lot of dragons then. The rain wild chronicles also doesn’t have the classic dragons.
The scholar chronicles by JJ Anders
The Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini is my favorite. It has Dragons, Elves, Dwarves, humans, and several other cool races.

Depends on the age of the reader. I found the love story awkward, unrealistic, and rather inappropriate. Fyi, I say the same about twilight. Wise long-lived people with teenagers is bizarre if you think about it.
The love story was inappropriate? There was very little to it. Definitely wasn’t even close to inappropriate seeing as how nothing happened.
Dragonlance Chronicles
Yeah, this is a good choice. It’s pretty much YA, so it’s easy to read and there are lots of cool dragons and characters. 🙂
