It was – Got number four in the series still to read – about the girl in the spider´s web. It´s not by the same author though so unsure what it will be like.
@Brenda – So did I. What a shame. Thanks for the warning. To be honest I did um and ah for a while about the fourth instalment and whether it was worth the risk given that someone else had taken over the writing. Thank you.
Anything by Yrsa Sigurdardottir. They’re set in Iceland. Also Jo Nesbo’s Harry Hole series, Hakan Nessar’s Van Veeteren series and Thomas Enger’s Henning Juul series.
Lars Kepler’s Joona Linna series is one of my favorites, along with the Harry Hole books and the Wallander books. Also, Karin Fossum’s Inspector Sejer series and Hakkan Nesser’s Inspektor Van Veeteren series. I’m a big fan. There is a really good group on Goodreads for Scandinavian crime fiction.
Have you read The Millennium Trilogy?
Yes thanks Vicky I have
Good series

The Wallander series? http://www.howtoread.me/wallander-books-in-order/
Yes.
Jo Nesbø? Harry Hole series for example.
Camilla Lackberg’s novels are certainly police mysteries, perhaps not noir, but they are well written, take place in Sweden, and build on one another.
Yes.
Asa Larsson, Camilla Lackberg, Mari Jungstadt, Helene Tursten.
Jussi Adler-Olsen’s dept Q mysteries. First one is The Keeper of Lost Causes.
The Martin Beck series (ten in all, of variable quality – but The Laughing Policeman is excellent).
Anything by Yrsa Sigurdardottir. They’re set in Iceland. Also Jo Nesbo’s Harry Hole series, Hakan Nessar’s Van Veeteren series and Thomas Enger’s Henning Juul series.
