Read Me Like A Book by Liz Kesseler. Its about a girl in year 10 or 11 in high school who develops feelings for her female english teacher but shes confused because she doesnt understand why shes feeling this way when she should be feeling that way about her boyfriend. Its basically a coming out story.
This is one of my all time favourite books. (Dont worry shes like 17 and the English teacher is 25/26 I believe and is married)

The Art Of Being Normal by (i can remember). This is about a trangender high schooler going thru transition and telling everyone.

Hmm, not entirely sure if this is considered LGBT, assuming it is since the main character is gender fluid. (Born a woman, doesn’t identify as either, and falls in love with a woman) It’s called Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller. I enjoyed the book, the story and plot I found quite interesting. It was a book you either loved or hated. But I do recommend it. ? It’s part of a duology, and since it is complete, if you enjoy the first, you won’t have to wait for the second. ?

Autoboyography. Really good book. I preferred it to Simon vs The Homosapiens Agenda, which is more popular. If you like audiobooks, the narrator is quite good as well.

Anything by Adam Silvera and I mean anything he writes. His 3 solo books are so good and the one he wrote with Becky Albertalli (Love,Simon author) is so cute!

I’ve listened to Beast with my trans son and it was very well written about a boy who accidently fell off his roof and broke his leg and his mom got him into a self harm group, he meets a lovely girl but zones out when she opens about being trans so he doesn’t find out till the middle of the book. It’s an interesting YA book that looks at assumptions people have over one another and the stereotypes people believe in.

Hijacking the post, but I’m looking for LGBT books where the main focus of the person/people is not that they’re lgbt, like 2 people have amazing adventures together and slowly fall in love, or one person is revealed to be trans, but is not judged by it and this is just part of their character. Every lgbt book I saw is about lgbt person worried about how others react to them coming out, etc, and I need a book where gay romance is treated in the same way straight romance is treated – something completely normal and everyone supports them, and them being lgbt is not the main focus of the book

@Faya try the Ian Finn books.
There maybe some angst about coming out, but that is not the center of the story.

Mercedes Lackey’s Last Herald-Mage series (Magic’s Pawn, Magic’s Promise and Magic’s Price) have some aspects of what you are looking for, the main character does a lot of soul searching to discover and accept who he is, but the difference in this series is that most of the society is very accepting of him, he just doesn’t see it.

Thanks, I’ll try them

You can look into “almost perfect” by Brian Katcher.. I read it in high school and I enjoyed it.

The Dime by Kathleen Kent. The one I posted about. It’s more of a crime, action packed novel, but the central character is a detective who is a lesbian in a stable relationship. Really well done.

Thanks so much everybody! I didn’t know where to start. I read a book called Dust by Elizabeth Bear and it’s about an angel who’s wings are cut off and she’s got a thing for females and it’s fantasy and I needed more of this lol

I enjoyed “Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit”. It’s a YA novel about teen lesbian who’s comfortable with herself, but is unsure about the girl she’s crushing on. I liked that, for once, the main character has a pastor father who actually supports her instead of judges her.
