I mean psychology books like “How to Make People Like You in 90 Seconds or Less”, “The Psychology of Persuasion”, “What Every Body is Saying”, “The Power of Body Language” Those are some awesome books but I’m wondering what other ones are put there.
@Alex I’ve always been interested in psychology, then I worked on a psych unit, and some recent medical happenings have only furthered my fascination with it.
I love psychology(it’s my chosen field) but most of the stuff I read are abnormal psych or neurological issues as those are absolutely fascinating. Anything by Oliver Sachs is great.
I have been looking for this book for years and can’t remember what it’s called but it’s about a psychologist who helps a young women with coming to terms with her past about having satanic cultist abusive family. it was such a good book and I have tried for years to remember the name but it eludes me
History and Systems of Psychology (gives you a well rounded approach that at least guides you in the direction you’re looking for), 40 Studies that Changed Psychology (talks about 40 studies whose experiment or the outcomes had a lasting impact on science), there’s another that talks about deviance which is really good to. If I can find it, I’ll circle back and drop the title.
“How to Make People Like You in 90 Seconds or Less”, “The Psychology of Persuasion”, “What Every Body is Saying”, “The Power of Body Language” those are somw of my favorites so far!
If you’re looking for highly psychological novels try the Boom writers of the 1960’s-70’s in Latinamerica, such as Jose Donoso, Julio Cortazar, Carlos Fuentes etc, maybe some short stories… also try to look for the genre of “fantastic” literature.
The Help by Karen Stockett
I’ve never heard of it. What kind of psychology is it?
How is The Help a psychology book..?
Good question. My AP psych teacher recommended it in high school. More sociology based i.m.o. but still good
Lol
Haha. I was confused too. Are you talking about recommendations for psychological thrillers @Melissa?
Very good but I don’t think it is psychology. It’s actually an amazing book, and the movie just as good! I love it.

False Memory by Dean Koontz is a psychological thriller.
It’s not so much psychology, but The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat is fascinating.
I have this on my Goodreads ☺️
It is endlessly fascinating. It’s amazing what the brain can do when it’s not functioning properly

You might also like Shirley Jackson novels, they tend to be short and have highly psychological content.
