I have read the first two books and so far I am really enjoying them. From what I can tell, people either love it or hate it lol

Yeah I’m reading queen of Shadows now. Think it’s book4 in the series right? But heir of fire had me in tears when I reached the end of certain chapters. So I would recommend this series.

That’s what I felt like through my first read. I reread them last year in preparation for the last book and enjoyed it way more. I don’t think you’re there yet but the Elide and Lorcan thing isn’t too convincing. I haven’t read the last yet so maybe SJM will convert me.

I’ve read the first four so far and I like it. I think they’re way longer than they need to be but still enjoyable.

I just finished Empire of Storms, and I have to say that this series is amazing. I reread the series up until now so I can finish the last two and I’m in love with it just as much as I was the first time.

I like the series. The writing can get repetitive but I like the characters. I do prefer it over ACOTAR. Tbh the only book I enjoyed in that series was ACOMAF.? I haven’t read KOA yet cuz I don’t want the series to end/I don’t want fave characters to die.

Soooo I completely understand that my opinion may not be the most “popular” but…Ok, first of all, l think all of Sarah J. Maas books have fabulous characters, snappy dialogue, and REALLY interesting plots. I have complete respect for her, her books, and her growing success…that being said though, I have chosen to not read her books anymore. Only because, she has (what I think anyway) VERY descriptive sex scenes. One of the major reasons I enjoy YA is because, at least I thought, I wouldn’t have to worry about such things. Not that I didn’t expect the characters to actually “have sex” in the story…just that, when the story is called for that…it wouldn’t be a described play-by-play of who-did-what with-whatever-body-part. If that type of thing doesn’t bother you, awesome! You will probably really enjoy it. But if, for whatever reason, reading sex scenes is an issue for you…You might want to pass. Whatever you choose, awesome sauce and I hope you have a good day! ?♥️?

@Amanda thanks for the heads up!! that thing doesn’t usually phase me but if there’s too much of it i definitely will. i’ll look out for it now! definitely wouldn’t have thought of it otherwise ?

Tiarna

@Danielle there’s no descriptive sex scene till in the later books and I think there’s only 1 or 2 it’s been a while since I read it but I didn’t think it was too full on. Her other series a court of thorns and roses has more sex scenes in it.

1
Tesni

The only descriptive sex scenes are in empire of storms ands it’s literally like 1 or 2

2
Harriett

I didn’t like the first one but the rest are really good!

@Grayson it’s got a huge following you should give it a go worst case you DNF it but there is the possibility that you will love it. It’s one of my top 10

I kicked myself for waiting so long. If you can deal with 8+ characters POV, angry snarky brat characters and wild adventures it’s a great series.
