@Lunchie beat me to it ? I loved her inheritance trilogy. I found Fifth season harder to get into but well worth sticking with
@Laura , I felt the same way about the Fifth Season, and I love the rest of the series so much.
Black Leopard Red Wolf by Marlon James. I have a copy but haven’t read it yet. Supposed to be a really good read.
Oh and Children of Blood and Bone is YA but was very good too. Tomi Adeyemi is the author.
Thanks everyone! I will try some of your picks!
Didn’t wesley snipes write a science fiction book also.

Tomi Adeyemi’s children of blood and bone fits the criteria – it’s enjoyable enough but has quite a few YA tropes
This one!!! ^^^^^^
Unkindness of Ghosts Rivers Solomon
i know it’s sci-fi but it’s to good. it to mention
Her work is usually considered sci-fi but I feel like there is a lot of fantasy and fable elements- Octavia Butler and the patternist series. I read Wild Seed a number of years ago, and it was an intersection story that has always stuck with me.
I read a lot of fantasy and I never know what race an author is…??♀️. I just finished The Priory of the Orange Tree and a couple of the main female characters were described as dark skinned if that would appeal to you. I liked it because it had strong female characters.
The Good House by Tananarive Due
Dr Aleron Kong has a series that’s pretty good. He is an indie author too. “The land”
Honestly I have read lost of good fantasy books without knowing who the author is. I was just wondering were there some out there. I sometimes like to imagine characters beyond the picture on the outside of the book, sometimes I won’t, buy the book if the author decided on the cover how the character s should look . Anyway thank you all
I am suprised nobody thought about Nnedi Okorafor?.
She wrote a lot of books already.
This is a bronzer !!
I honestly dont know the skin color of any author except the ones that are On tv alot like George r r Martin ^^
I have an urban fantasy series. The Bonding Spell is out and now The Bonding Blade is available for pre-order. I write under M. L. Doyle. My main characters are always black and brown, there’s magic and a variety of demons.
