Travis, when is your trip? I recently got all 3 books of The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. I’m on book 2 now. I’d be happy to send it on. They are on CD.

Night Angel Trilogy, quick and fun reads with great action scenes and plenty of magic to boot

If it’s for audible then a good series I’ve recently finished was the society of the sword . It’s a trilogy but all three books come bundled for one credit which is great value and I found them really enjoyable . Another Ive not long listened to is the greatcloaks series by Sebastian de castell which was quite frankly awesome . The nightblade series is also good by Ryan Kirk .

How long is the series? Is it like WoT or stormlight?

0
Matt

@Sheldon it’s 10 books (all in one in the book I posted a pic of) but they are pretty short. So all told the 10 books are probably as long as a GoT book or away of Kings. 1200 ish pages I think.

@Sheldon grabs hold on page one and never lets go. Zelanzy was a master

Sheldon

Of course audible has them split into individual books, each being around 5 hours. Lol. So I may never spend all that money for so little of content

Matt

@Sheldon ahhh that’s a bummer. BUT you can always buy one, return when your done, get the next one and so on. You can return anything you want on there as long as you’re a subscriber. I do it all the time to get a whole series for 1 credit.

Sheldon

Seriously??? Idk how to do that

0
Matt

@Sheldon yep, it’s their listener guarantee. Just log on, go to your account and look at purchases and there’s a little button that says return. Click it and boom done. Pro tip: if you leave it downloaded on your devise you can still listen even after returning

Sheldon

Wow. Thanks. U just saved me about $150 a month in extra credits

David

Just be careful you don’t fall foul of Amazon by doing this too much . They’ve been known to ban people’s audible and amazon accounts for this . I’ve returned a couple of books in the past but I tend to only do it with the ones I genuinely don’t like and that I can’t get into . Think in a couple of years I’ve only returned like 3 and I buy 3-4 every month

Sheldon

Oh ok

I couldn’t live without amazon or audible. U can now go around proclaiming heroism for saving someone’s life. U saved me from suicide. ???

Royal

@David hmmmm I return all the time….. I also own 115 audiobooks as well

1
Matt

@Royal me too. I keep the ones I know I’ll listen to again or really enjoyed but I do return a lot

50hr trip?….Jordan might have just finished describing one of the girls dresses in that time, emphasis on the word ‘might’??

3
Matt

@Davfyd Sooooo true. Then it’s a description of a flag moving in the wind for the next 50…

Someone needs to do a “translation” of Wheel of Time. Tell the friggin’ story. It would probably be two books.

Duncan M Hamilton has”The society of the Sword” trilogy as a single audible purchase, it’s 53 hours and is rapiers/dueling and magic. More of a light listen, like Manning. Edward Robertson has “The cycle of Arawn” again it’s like 53 hours long and it’s more along the lines of Manning/Hair/Kade/Rowling. Scott Lynch has “The Gentleman Bastards” series which is more along the lines of Rothfuss/McPhail. Brent Weeks “Lightbringer” series also is along the lines of Rothfuss, well done and more mature. Mark Lawrence’s second trilogy, “The Red Queen’s War” is fun, well written and engaging, you’d probably like it. I have more to suggest if you’re interested, but any of the ones listed would get you through the drive and keep you entertained. 🙂

I read in another comment you said you like “medieval feel/magic/fantasy” so I would also suggest Anthony Ryan “Bloodsong.” Great trilogy, one of my favorite protagonists
