i was in a bit of a reading slump recently (about a year long) and honestly i found, (after re-reading harry potter, i 100% agree) trying something a bit new? and just kind of throwing myself into it, giving myself ample time to read it and remembering what i love about books in the first place ?
Honestly me too. I haven’t read/ enjoyed reading in so long. But being on here has encouraged me to start reading more this holidays. I go through fluxes. Maybe try branching out if normal stuff isn’t working for you right now and maybe it’ll click later. Or reread something that really clicked xx hope something works for you
I watch TV shows, movies, documentaries. I ask friends to meet up for coffee, or lunch. I try to write. Or paint. Somehow I get through that phase. I think it’s all about reconnecting to your other outlets. ?
Harry Potter is the only book series that can snap me out of a reading slump!
Same here!

When I’m in a reading slump I read some quick standalone contemporary books. The instant gratification of them helps.
My reading slumps last a good few months at a time..
Only thing that gets me out of them is either Harry Potter (most commonly) or another book that was made into a movie (that I saw and enjoyed).
I listen to audiobooks when I feel like I’m in a slump. Also, try the Levar Burton Reads podcast. It’s short stories and absolutely wonderful.
