I read Throne of Glass but it took a lot of willpower because the main character was so freaking annoying. The whole premise to me was also ridiculous. Best assassin in the country is 17 or so, after spending several years in prison? The other assassins must not be very good…

I really liked court of thorns and roses series, however throne of glass did nothing for me. I enjoyed the lesser characters particularly, and they are fairly diverse.

Not really. I read both Throne of Glass and A Court of Throns and Roses and didn’t think they were particularly great. There was a lot of things that got on my nerves about the plot and the characters. I’d classify them as romances set in a fantasy world, not fantasy novels with a romance subplot. Many people enjoyed them though, so if you’re intrigued give them a try.

I personally don’t think they live up to the hype at all. I read the first two ToG books and didn’t care for them. I enjoyed the first ACOTAR book, but hated the second one. I feel like her books all need to be edited down because they tend to drag and get longer for no real reason. But if you’re interested in a romance storyline in a fantasy setting, then try them and see.

I read the first books in both ACOTAR and TOG and TOG is the only one I’m considering carrying on. ACOTAR was one of the worst books I read last year.

You might like it. Throne of glass has a pretty cool heroine and quite some twists. Also the last book of the series will be out soon. 🙂
