Dear Dorothy Weigand let alone other things i think that you do not have your own books. (We don’t have our own books.) You just simply (without thinking about it) took the responsibility of transcending these books to the next generation. So you are not the owner of your books, rather you are serving as a bridge to those books. Regarding books i always consider my self not as an owner rather as a responsibility holder.
Difficult finding comfortable positions while reading , issues with other people folding the page or scribbling in d book ., not getting enough time to read . Buying tooo many books which usually lies on display. Lol
Having to go to work when you’re in the middle of a really good part of a book, thinking about it all day and counting down the hours until you can be reunited with it.
When ppl borrow a book, and break the binding..or bend your book azz backwards, or fold the page corners, or lay your book in water, spill coffee on the pages, drop lunch crumbs inside the pages ,food stains, finger stains, grease stains on pages…etc…and when you ( who was kind enough to borrow your book to them)- remarks to them about it, —– your the mean, strange, weird one!!!
Taking couple of books on your hols but finishing reading too fast and left for the rest of the holiday without reading material. Happened to me once, the worst feeling ever.
People not understanding that when you are reading it isnt that you arent listening to them but you arent even there! You are, at least mentaly, in another place with characters in a story and you cant hear what they are saying because the characters in the story are talking to you. People get so upset because they think we are ignoring them. Dont talk while Im reading!!
????? yes. Biggest problem ever. I always want to be that person that’s like omg I have so many books you would love you should borro— and then I get paranoid and try to backpedal lol
I had someone borrow a book of mine back in college and then when I asked her how it is, if she’s enjoying it, she tells me, “Oh I gave it as a present to my friend. I thought you didn’t want it back coz you never ask abt it.” Lol. I swear my vision darkened and I was abt to attack her lol. I wasn’t pestering her abt it ofc because I do not know how long it takes for her to finish a book.. -_- I told her to get it back or else… Lol. Some people. Smh.
O, And flattening out a brand new book, or bending the spine. Pet peeve. If you want to flatten out the pages of my book, rather borrow someone else’s book
We were having a similar discussion on another page how it takes you six months to finish a book because you are reading 5 books at the same time. Glad to know I am not alone in this behavioral disturbance
Reading an e-book at night when you’re already verrrrry sleepy but determined to finish it….and your tablet/phone/phablet falls right into your face coz you’re falling asleep. ??????
When you get less than 2 hours of sleep..because you couldn t put the book down and you had to finish it and you wake up with the worst headache ever..
When you have a long nervous wait (like before surgery) but you can’t concentrate to read or as soon as you do get into your book nurses and doctors keep coming in interrupting you.
Staying comfortable while long periods of reading
Especially difficult with back problems and wearing my brace only creates less comfort
Don’t fold the page!!!
I’m a page folder.. and I’m not even sorry!
No page folding or spine breaking or high lighting! Them’s the rules!!!
No notes in the margins, either.
I do all of that. In my own books.

When you are broke and you passed by a bookstore or your book shelves is broken by flood?
Anytime you buy a new purse, it has to be big enough to hold a book.
I was just looking at a new purse this weekend and that was the issue!
Not finding a bookstore when you’re traveling from country to country
What to read next on your never ending tbr list!
Lending books to others and they either do not return them or give them back almost completely destroyed. Maddening!

Murder: Simply Brewed (An Amish Mystery) is the book that I loaned to my grandma and she’s taking a bit too long to finish it..
(It’s been over two, three.. actually, it’s six months. Probably because she says it’s still in a box somewhere, and she has recently moved)
I got part of that trilogy! I love Amish Fiction!
Being on the waiting list for a book from the library.
Finishing a book that’s part of a series and discovering that the author hasn’t written the next one…
Or that you read out of order, or that you have to wait a while till your library can bring it to their shelfs for you.
Hand cramp from trying to paperback one-handed
Sad endings of books you can’t get over for months

Not finding a book you’ve been waiting for on its release date. (Happened a couple times to me)
To be interrupted while reading. It’s me time go away
