Hello friends, Want to read Haruki Murakami. Can any of you suggest which one I should start with?

I really liked Norwegian Wood. 1Q84 is also great but it’s pretty long — Norwegian Wood is a better introduction to his work. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is also great and more representative of his style.

What Andrea said. Wind-up Bird Chronicle is a good place to start imo. I liked Norwegian Wood but it’s fairly untypical of his work. IQ84 is loooong and you may want to leave it for later.

I think Kafka on the Shore is a good start. Its very quirky, more fast paced. Or Colourless Tskuro I think… I loved that book. Norwegian Wood…

I woukd say 1q84 is probably not so good a starting point. Its very long, it moves along and i enjoyed it but it is slow paced.

My favorite is the Wind up bird chronicles. 1Q84 is great, provided that you are somewhere where you can read to your heart’s content
