The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova or the Outlander series are great

The Nightingale if you haven’t read it yet. All time favorite! Also I just read lilac girls & it was good too.

The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. Dubois
I’m not sure if it’s historic/fiction but I like Paris The Novel by Edward Rutherfurd. It’s definitely historic and certain parts make me think it’s also fiction while describing the building of the modern Paris.
