I’m not sure what you mean by this. I’ve read books set in India. I read A Fine Balance and if I remember correctly…I believe Sweetness in the Belly is also set in India. I don’t remember the character names but I remember enjoying both books.
@Melissa hey,i would love to add you in goodreads! I am an Indian, so i have read enough. Would like to know what kind of books you prefer. Anyway, For now, lets connect in goodreads.
I would say it’s good. A tragic story for sure! I don’t know how that woman rebuilt herself. I read a lot about people overcoming adversity and always hate giving a bad review because there is always something to learn from each. I would say it’s a good solid read. Probably only took a couple of days to finish so not a big investment
I absolutely loved it!!! I read it every chance I got…home, work, at red lights driving to and from work. It has a little bit of everything in it…cultural reference, humor, love, mystery….
Actually, I am interested in other horror novels written by people from India, if anyone here knows of any. I found Indra Das as a fluke when searching the name Indira.
I loved all of Chitra Banergee Caruna books. Mistress of the spices, sister of my heart, etc. also A fine balance- one of my favore books by Rohinton Mistry.
Village by the sea – Anita Desai. Probably the only Indian authored book I read; and have to say it’s really one of the finely written books I’ve come across.
