What about Harry Potter movies? They were better than books imo.

1
Munnu

They are great, but the books are way better… There is no way they can cram all that into a three hour movie anyway!

4
Amanda

@Kadhijah, I never seen Harry Potter or read thr books so I’ll take your word.

Forrest Gump. But in my defence: the book was written in spoken-language rather than written language and I was new at English.

For series: the vampire diaries! However very addictive to read, I always wondered what drug she was on while writing some of those books.

The book of The Bridges of Madison County is better, I agree, BUT there’s absolutely no way to get that scene at the end, from the book, when they see each other in town, she cries, & her hand almost…..almost touches the door, as he pulls away at the light…AGGGGGG!!!! She sooooooo much wants to go to him, but doesn’t. I cry everytime!

Lord of the Rings, as Tolkien’s style lacks emotion and is heavy on description. He is first and foremost a linguist I guess. I adore the books and miss Tom Bombadil in the movies, but the movies are among the best movies ever made. I feel the same about all the Agatha Christie movies with Peter Ustinov too. I guess I also like the LOTR movies bc of the scenery, the same applies to evil under the sun and death on the nile.
