it means taking the story into different narratives with some of the characters- writing your own spin to the story

Oh yeah. The year leading up to the release of Deathly Hallows. All of us were writing our own endings for the series. In my version, Sirius came back from the Veil which was just a portal to another dimension and Voldemort won.
