I like the HBO show. I read the book a couple of years ago so it’s not too fresh in my memory but the author is one of the producers and wrote the storyline for the show so I think it’s pretty good ??‍♀️

I read the book many years ago and loved it. I struggled through the show.

Just finished it last night.
Book was ten times better.

Gillian Flynn helped direct and wrote the screen play. I enjoyed it. Not something you can watch and do something else at the same time. I rewatched several shows and caught things I missed before. I really liked it and Amy Adams did a great job.

As we book lovers know the book is always better but I have enjoyed the series.

The last two episodes of the show were the best. A little slow during the middle episodes which were a lot of the main character driving around in her car listening to loud music. Since we haven’t read the book the end left my husband and me a little surprised and confused. But now I want to read the book! The actress who played the mother did an amazing job.

The show wasn’t able to develop the characters and back stories as much as the book but it was pretty close to the plotline. I recommend reading the book too

I’d like to read the book to see how Flynn creates (with words) that creepy stifling atmosphere in that house. Chills! Lol

It’s been awhile since I’ve read the book, but I’m really enjoying the show. I think the show is doing a good job following the book.

I read the book years ago so I was as surprised as anyone watching the series. I liked it- very dark like all her books.

8 episodes was too many. I originally gave the book a 5 Star review years ago. When I reread SHARP OBJECTS, it was more like a 3 Star mostly because of I loved the ending.
The miniseries was atmospheric, subtle and super creepy. If I hadn’t known the story, I would have missed most of the subtleties. Still, reading recaps the day after showed me how much I missed.
The acting is phenomenal.
I think the best way to watch would be to binge watch when you’re stuck at home on a rainy day or during a blizzard.

I hope the book is better than the series bc we’re halfway through and not loving it at all. Weird, confusing, repetitive and dragging.

Idk….I may have felt that way too if I hadn’t read the book first & somewhat knew what to expect. In fact…I probably wouldn’t have even watched or thought anything of it if I hadn’t read book & was curious..

I thought the book was most excellent. Not so much the series. I made it through half of 2 episods.

Ohhhh I loved the series. So much. Almost as much as the book. However I adore movies almost as much as books and appreciate film making as an art. The cinematography and acting was so superb. While reading the book, I totally pictured the actresses that portrayed Adora and Jackie in my head… maybe that made it better. They were both amazing.

You’re right….it was awesome. I usually like the books a little better….or at least in a different way but this was great, I thought!!
